There has been heavy rotation of Robert Wyatt’s music these past couple of years. His life seems to reflect his music’s commitment to justice and total exposure. To celebrate his birthday, I put together versions of both “Just As You Are” and “Free Will and Testament.” The former was co-written with Alfie Benge, whose artwork is an essential presence and influence on the music.

So grateful for Macie Stewart, Ricardo Dias Gomes, Benjamin Lazar Davis, and Kenny Wollesen. A separate thank you to trumpeters Steven Bernstein and Peter Evans. As Wyatt also plays trumpet, I wanted to include that voice in these tributes. Thanks to Paul Bryan and John Dietrich for your mixing and mastering. Finally, thank you to John Herndon for the original artwork.

All proceeds will go to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
